Intel has released a new set of tools that will allow hardware vendors to build chips for the upcoming version of the USB(Universal Serial Bus) interface. The Extension Host Controller Interface(xHCI) draft specification allows the USB host controllers to communicate with a software stack, allowing developers to communicate with the USB 3.0 hardware and build controller chips for devices.
USB 3.0 is targeted at ten times the current bitrate, reaching roughly 4.8 Gb/s (600MB/s) by utilizing two additional high-speed differential pairs for "Superspeed" mode at a clock frequency of 2.5GHz, and with the possibility for optical interconnect. The two new differential pairs make the cable about as thick as an ethernet cable and provide full-duplex transfers. The USB 3.0 specification was 90% complete as of August 13, 2008 and commercial products are expected to arrive in 2009 or 2010. USB 3.0 is designed to be backwards-compatible with both USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 and employs more efficient protocols such as 8b/10b encoding to conserve power while increasing the maximum power available for connected devices.
Intel describes the interface as a simplified kit for integrating the the "SuperSpeed" USB connections. Intel is hoping to push USB 3.0 as the connection standard for the HD media devices that demand larger pipelines for data transfers. The company counts Microsoft, AMD, Dell, and nVidia among the early backers for SuperSpeed USB. Intel hopes to release the next xHCI draft specification by the end of the year.

Hello once again. Guess what! This time I am here with the new Nokia N96 Multimedia Phone and literally speaking I am spellbound over its features. Writing this article I don't know where to start with-"It has got such a bundle of features that you won't believe its a phone."
Starting with the camera, a 5.0MP is not a joke to work with. Yup,it has got a 5.0MP camera supported by Carl Zeiss Tessar™ lens optics. It has an amazing capability to capture images of size 2593 x 1944 pixels. Possesses an auto-focus and auto-aperture feature with a 2.8F aperture. Again a Dual-LED camera flash, video light, recording indicator and auto-focus assist light just as the currently approaching camera versions.Supported image formats are JPEG and EXIF. Also has a secondary VGA camera which is not much to be spoken about.
Following Video capture,capable of recording in MPEG-4 up to VGA at 30 fps Digital Video Stabilization (DVS). Special feature:"You can Record a complete football match using your N96."Supports video file format in .mp4 (default) and .3gp(for MMS).There are also special settings for scene, video light, white balance and color tone adjustment of the media.

Intel’s next generation of desktop and mobile processors will retain the chip giant’s Core brand, the company said this morning. No great surprise there, but they won’t be ‘Core 3′ parts.
Nehalem architecture chips will be marked ‘i7′, instead, though Intel further messed it up by telling us to expect other such codes for different next-gen CPUs as the roll-out continues through 2009.
The logos Intel published today suggest that while it will continue to offer Extreme-class CPUs, aimed at gamers, they’ll be distinguished visually simply by a black version of the blue logo to be attached to boxes and machines containing regular desktop Core i7s.
There’s logic to the use of ‘i7′: just as Pentium was Intel’s fifth-generation processor architecture, so the new Cores will be its seventh major x86 CPU design.
The fourth quarter will see the introduction of a pair of mainstream desktop quad-core parts and a single Extreme chip. All three processors are codenamed ‘Bloomfield’. The Extreme part is set to clock at 3.2GHz and connects directly to 1333MHz DDR 3 memory. The other two Bloomfields will run at 2.93MHz and 2.66GHz, respectively, and connect to 1066MHz DDR 3.All three chips can link to three channels of memory.
Nehalem chips will use Intel's new QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) bus. In the case of the Extreme CPU, the bus is tuned to deliver 6.4bn transfers per second (GT/s), while the mainstream desktop chips' QPI bus runs to 4.8GT/s, it's claimed.
All three CPUs clip into LGA1366 sockets. They contain 8MB of L3 cache shared across all four cores - each core has its own complement of L1 and L2 cache; 256KB of the latter - and support all the usual Intel extension technologies except TXT (Trusted eXecution Technology). They're all said to have a power and thermal envelope of 130W.
