Congratulations loyal Palm fans, the Palm Pre has officially restored Palm as the industry leader in mobile connectivity. As the first ever device running Palm WebOS, the revolutionary new Palm Operating System, all the dreams and hopes of the Plam fans have been answered. Palm made the announcement of the Palm Pre and Palm WebOS at CES 2009.

The Palm Pre is based upon the Palm® webOS™ Operating system. As far as networking is concerned, the Pre speaks a good word. It support 3G EVDO Rev A networking mode. It is provided with a Microsoft Outlook® email with Microsoft® Direct Push Technology and a POP3 / IMAP (Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, etc.), Integrated IM, SMS, and MMS facility. It also has a Built-in GPS tracker.
It houses a 3.1-inch touch screen 24-bit 320x480 HVGA display, physical QWERTY keyboard. It has an Ambient light sensor, an accelerometer and a proximity sensor. Its media player suppports MP3, AAC, AAC+, AMR, QCELP and WAV audio formats and MPEG-4, H.263, H.264 video formats. The image formats frequently encountered are GIF, Animated GIF, JPEG, PNG and BMP .
If camera be the point of the talk, its a real iPhone killer. It has got a 3 megapixel camera containing an LED flash with an extended depth of field.
